Q: What is the minimum amount required to open an account?

A: Capital & Credit Merchant Bank offers a variety of accounts - each with its own requirement for minimum opening balance. For example: You can open a Capital Investor Plus (CIP) Account or a Bridal Registry Account with J$1,000 or US$1,000. For a Certificate of Deposit account you will be required to have a minimum of J$20,000 or US$1,000.00; while you may open a Capital Advantage Gold Account with J$500,000. Q: How do I open an account at Capital & Credit?

A: If you live in Jamaica you can visit any one of our branches in Kingston or Montego Bay; or fill out an online application form: click here We will need to see one of these valid national identification (Driver's Licence, Passport, Voter’s ID) and your Tax Registration Number (TRN).

Non-Residents who want to open a Tax-Free account will need to confirm their overseas address. This can be done by submitting a utility bill showing their name and address and a valid national identification.
Q: I don’t live in either Kingston or Montego Bay. How can I deposit and withdraw funds from my account?

A: If you want to withdraw funds from your account send us your instructions via fax and we will send the funds to any one of the commercial banks near you.

For deposits to your account at CCMB you can credit our account at NCB or BNS and fax the deposit slip to us for confirmation.
Q: How do I apply for a loan? 

A: To apply for a loan at CCMB you will need to complete an application form,  submit a job letter, bank or reference letter, bank statements, a national ID (Driver’s Licence, Passport, voter’s ID) and your Tax Registration Number (TRN).
Q: What forms of security does CCMB accept for approval of a loan?

A: Capital & Credit Merchant Bank will accept cash (an account at CCMB or CCSL), a motor vehicle that is three years old or less, insurance, real estate or shares.

Q: Do you give unsecured loans?
A: No. In order to receive approval for a loan it must be secured by an acceptable asset.

Q: Can I open an account without coming into the Bank?

A: Yes. If you are unable to visit our branch offices we will send you the documents. These documents should be notarized and stamped by a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, or an Attorney-at-Law.

Q: Are my funds insured?

A: Yes. At CCMB, funds placed on Certificate of Deposit and Capital Investor Plus Accounts are insured by the Jamaica Deposit Insurance Corporation (JDIC). This is an independent statutory organization set up by the Government to protect depositors. All the depositors are protected up to a maximum of J$300,000.00

Q: Does CCMB offer chequing accounts?

A: No. Under the Financial Institutions Act merchant banks in Jamaica are not allowed to offer chequing accounts to customers
